Following the second inquiry conducted by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Ethnicity Transplantation and Transfusion, the ‘Fit for Everyone’ report was officially published earlier this week.
Much like the previous publication by the APPG, the ‘Fit for Everyone’ report calls for system change and one of the main recommendations was to be a call for the Department of Health and Social Care to commission an independent review of the use, supply and funding of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation in the UK.

We were therefore delighted when, prior to the release of the ‘Fit for Everyone’ report, the then Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health Innovation and Safety confirmed that he would be announcing the launch of an independent review of stem cell donor provision.
We are led to believe that this decision, in part, resulted from the work of Team Margot both during and since the initial APPG inquiry, which resulted in the 2023 publication of the ‘Where are our nation’s donors?’ report.
Dr Daniel McCloskey and I have been active contributors to both the above mentioned reports and have since held meetings with Professor John Forsythe, who is leading the independent review, now underway.
Daniel & I look forward to continuing working to make the most of the opportunity to feed into and influence the independent review of stem cell donor provision, to address the health inequalities and to improve access to stem cell transplantation for mixed heritage, minority ethnic and other patients.
Thank you for your continued support.
