We find it difficult to keep up with the many good things that people are doing both in Margot’s memory and also in support of Team Margot Foundation – so please forgive me if I am remiss and have missed you out ! (if so, please write to me and let me know) – but here’s a quick summary of recent and current events:
Gemini Dancers are based in Earlsfield and have over 150 students aged from 4 years to adult who participate ballet, jazz, modern dance and tap classes. We were delighted when the school told us that they wished to support Team Margot Foundation as their charity of the year, to fundraise and also to help raise further awareness of what Team Margot strives to achieve.
During the last 12 months, Gemini Dancers have held a number of fundraiser and awareness events including amongst other things: cake sales, a ‘onesie day’ and most recently two dance performances at the Epsom Playhouse, which included children of all ages, as well as some of the mothers of the younger pupils.
The dance performance events featured a table dedicated to Team Margot and the proceeds of sale from the show t-shirts, programmes and tickets were all pledged to Team Margot Foundation.
We were completely overwhelmed when we were told that Gemini Dancers had raised £6,000 for Team Margot, which is astonishing.
Well done girls ! and to Andrea and all the adults involved too.
Meanwhile, over the weekend, Lucy Clark ran the Plymouth half marathon with friends Jane Coumbe, Bryluen and Morenwyn Cowlingin in 2 hours 50 mins raising money and awareness for Team Margot Foundation.
And this weekend, two other long standing & ardent Team Margot supporters, Maria Smith and Sarah Bagnall will be leaping out of an aircraft in Margot’s
memory and to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital, where Margot was treated.
Thank you everyone for your continued support and for all your fantastic efforts !
