During summer 2014, after Margot had been declared conventionally incurable by the doctors, we took her for a two week stint at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, to try an experimental therapy, which proved unsuccessful.
Shortly after returning home, Vicki raised something with me that I just hadn’t seen coming – it was completely unexpected and at the time, it came as quite a shock to me: she asked me to consider donating Margot’s heart valves and her cornea after her death…
