Margot with cousin Louna (born just two weeks apart) – Together Against Blood Cancer

At the start of this month, I had the great pleasure of meeting Katharina Harf, unfortunately all too briefly.

Katharina co-founded DKMS with her father following her mothers death 25 years ago. She has proven herself to be a real fighter which belies her slender frame & stature.

There’s little that galvanises action as much as the loss of a loved one and her motivation is resolute. Katharina wants to Delete Blood Cancer.

And so do we.

Back in January, Marina Calero held a donor recruitment event in Crouch End, North London which was preceded by a Blood Cancer Awareness Week initially in several schools, but which built up a seemingly unstoppable momentum and then just kept going. The event spread throughout many local businesses in that community and ended up morphing into a Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

Those series of events were very visceral & involved a physical “boots on the ground” effort by all involved.

Tomorrow is World Blood Cancer Day 2015 and we would really love to mark the occasion by making the most of the digital realm. We are urging the virtual army of Team Margot followers – you – to help spread awareness and share with others how they can make a difference:

Register as a potential stem cell donor and potentially save a life.

And if you needed an inspirational “click”, then please take a moment to watch Katharina’s video below.

Thank you.
