I will apologise for my tears
But that doesn’t mean I don’t hear you here
It’s been so long since I have seen your face
But I will be strong because you were brave
I know so much I didn’t before
because of you I’m living more
And with this hope I’m paving the road
So stay there to light the way
Stay there to light the way etc
You lit a candle in me and I knew I wasn’t alone
And your inspiration
Is saving lives
It’s your inspiration!!
It’s been so long since we have seen your face
But we will be strong because you were brave
We know so much we didn’t before
Because of you we’re living more
And with this hope we’re paving the road
So stay there to light the way
Stay there to light the way etc
I will run, run with you
And I will dance, dance with you
All my life
So stay there to light the way
Stay there to light the way
Keep shining on etc
I will apologise for my tears
But that doesn’t mean I don’t hear you here

Earlier this week I attended a Parliamentary reception, where an exciting new campaign partnership was announced between MOBO and NHS Blood and Transplant. The intention is for the collaboration to inspire a new generation of Black and South Asian blood donors, who are poorly represented: only 3% of all blood donors are Black or Asian.
Blood from donors with the same ethnic background are needed to assist patients with the blood disorder, sickle cell anaemia. Carol Nwosu who set up & runs the Sickle Cell Young Stroke Survivors Association (SCYSS) introduced two young boys with the condition, Ezekiel & Matthew, who both go for regular blood donations in order to keep them clinically well: sickle cell anaemia leads to fatigue and with fatigue there’s a greater risk of strokes. Please watch the excellent video below for more information.
Kanya King, founder of MOBO Organisation shared her own story about her father who died of leukaemia & she stated how proud she felt to offer the MOBO platform and voice to this important blood donation need & as a force for good.
We were treated to a sneak preview of the new #Represent campaign music video, which is fronted by Lady Leshurr, amongst other celebrities & which coincidentally, launches publicly today, on the second anniversary of Margot’s death.
